The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), yesterday, condemned the abduction of the district head of Garu Kurama and the 6 other members of the Gurzan-Kurama community in Kaduna State.

Recall that bandits reportedly attacked the community on Saturday night, and kidnapped Yakubu Jadi (District Head), Iliya Yakubu, Nehemiah Tanko, Thomas Tanko and Yakubu Jadis daughter, the Catholic Catechist of the community.
SOKAPU, in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Josiah Yusuf Abraks, described the incident as unfortunate, alarming and worrisome.
The statement read in part: SOKAPU is calling on security agencies and relevant authorities to put in their very best to ensure the quick and safe release of the district head , Yakubu Jadi and those six others.
The trauma being experienced by the victims, families and entire community can only be imagined. The Union is calling on Governments at all levels to do more in the protection of lives and properties of its citizens”.
“All communities are enjoined to be more organised and vigilant against unusual faces and movements in their environments and report such to appropriate authorities. Insecurity across the land must not be allowed to escalate, the statement added.
The Kaduna State Police Command was yet to react to the kidnap incident.
